The modulator utilizes a newly patented technology developed by Lightspeed’s partner LC-Tec Displays AB which holds the US Patent No. 8023052. Lightspeed is the exclusive, worldwide distributor of all DepthQ® products.
When combined with a silver screen, the DepthQ® Polarization Modulator allows your digital cinema projector to display stunning, Hollywood quality, stereoscopic 3D films, viewable using inexpensive passive circular polarized glasses. To date, it has been successfully reviewed by executives from six major Hollywood studios and is listed on the Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Approved Equipment List. Units are currently deployed in the United States in Washington, Alaska, Michigan and California as well as internationally in India, Dubai, Germany, Israel, Australia, UK, Turkey, Latin America, China and the Philippines. DepthQ® meets Hollywood’s demanding image quality standards by precisely and efficiently varying the polarity of light passing through it in perfect synch with the “triple-flash” of left and right eye images.
